How to wash and care for linen
Linen is a natural fabric, spun from the fibres of the flax plant. It is known for its breathability, durability, and cool, comfortable feel. Linen is quick to dry and comfortable to wear, making it ideal for the hot summer season.
Wash
We always recommend that you check the care instructions on the label on linen garments before you wash them. Although you can wash almost all pure linen items in a washing machine with a low spin at 30°C, other materials used for stitching, trim or lining may need to be dry cleaned/hand washed. Ignoring or being unaware of that advice can ruin your garment.
Dry
Hang linen pieces to air dry. Tumble drying can shrink or damage the fibres.
While linen can wrinkle easily, this is often seen as a charming characteristic of the fabric. To reduce creases, hang in the bathroom while taking a hot shower.
Store
Store linen items in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Try not to use thin hangers and clips - they can leave impressions or pull the fabric out of shape.
